I have an active 2.5 year old son and a (almost) 3 month old daughter and I am learning the ropes of handling two. Here are some of my go-to products right now. Check it outtttt.
Ok, starting with the basics. A MUST! I have the original version AND the All Position 360 version (the one you wear on your back as the babes get older). I am HUGE into baby-wearing and wore my first born constantly to resume all normal activities after he was born but it comes even more in handy when you are adding babies to your crew. Its great to multitask, on walks, grocery shopping, when you need to play with your toddler but have a baby that needs mom. I keep telling my husband I will sell the original version since the 360 can be used both ways but I have zero desire to part with either one (you never know). Seriously, I am not sure what I would do without it.
This was a new purchase for me with my second kid. I will preface that we are crazy paranoid about sleeping conditions so we don’t use it in the bassinet or crib so I can’t review it in that aspect (although have heard great things) BUT we use it as a lounger and a device she naps in during the day when we are watching her. The suggested use IS for co-sleeping, in the crib, etc. we just use it differently but regardless still a clutch purchase. It is great for when I am cooking, need to put her down somewhere quick or for daytime naps. We primarily use ours on our couch but will be great down on a rug or in the middle of a bed (under supervision, duh). They offer an original and then a “Grand” for larger babies.
An oldie but a goodie and another item that I used religiously with my first and now with my second. I bought some trendy covers off Etsy and use constantly. If I am nursing at home, I am using it. It offers great support (for mom and baby) and helps hold the baby up in between switching sides. It is also great to help others comfortably hold the babes and now my little guy knows he must have the Boppy on his lap to hold his baby sister (again, yes, supervised).
We got two from a friend as a gift and we are hooked. They have a ton of options, colors and patterns and are super soft and NEVER leave a mark. Get one, they ship fast and are adorable.
::MOM ITEM:: Guys, I don’t buy clothes that cost more that $30, its actually like a rule I have unless its a special occasion. These AMAZING dresses are about $60 bucks and worth every damn penny. Its like a modern housecoat that feels like butter and is totally acceptable to wear out. They have two styles, I only have one (with the zipper and short sleeves) and its seriously amazing. They only come in one size and they have tons of patterns. It is baby bump friendly AND nursing friendly. You can be pregnant, skinny, fat, or somewhere in between and this dress will flatter your body type. You are able to knot it at the bottom and make it more “hip” or dress it up or down. My favorite part about it is that it flows and super easy to nurse in. BONUS: it has pockets (think cell phone, pacifiers, etc.) and spit up or whatever other gross substance you get on you throughout the day, wipes off easily. Ok, I will stop now but buy one, you won’t regret it.
Yes, it’s a leash….for my kid. If you are judging me, you obviously don’t have a toddler or have some sort of breed of toddler I am not familiar with. My guy RUNS, no matter what. We can yell, bribe, threaten, beg, sweet talk and there will still be several times each outing he runs away. Having a newborn in a stroller or strapped to you, limits your stealth-like movements so this LEASH is a lifesaver. We use it at Farmer’s Markets, walks around the lake, Disney, Seaworld, etc. and we love it. We sometimes strap it to the stroller and other times just to our own wrist. It eliminates so much stress and anxiety when places are crowded and you can buy it from Amazon.
Another super handy product, especially if you have two kids. Its a cart hammock. It seems super comfortable and groceries fit right under the babes. I put my little guy in front sitting area and then she just hangs (get it) in the cart.
This is a Shark Tank product, so just that makes me into it but really, I use it constantly. It’s the perfect nursing cover, it’s breathable and covers it all. I don’t have to worry about wearing a tank top OR nursing bra and they come in a ton of pattern options. It’s also a three for one. You can use it as a car seat cover (perfectly placed “peep hole” AND shopping cart cover and its affordable at $36 bucks!
Okay, I will wrap this one up for now but I could easily keep going. I will do another one as I collect more favorites and learn about new products. Let me know if you have any favorites that I should try!
